Tokyo Game Show 2020 is cancelled

Tokyo Game Show 2020

Most large events have been cancelled for 2020 due to the current pandemic and it’s no surprise that the Tokyo Games Show 2020 has joined the list. A press release was sent out on May 6th announcing the news and that it would be replaced with an online event.

TGS is usually held at the end of September so there was some speculation it might be able to avoid cancellation. However, due to the unpredictable nature of the situation there will be no physical event this year.

The official website states there are plans to move the event online instead. More information will be coming later this month in regards to how it will be hosted this year. We can expect to see more news being posted by the official Tokyo Game Show channels and also via press releases to the media.

While the traditional formats of most gaming events won’t be going ahead, we will get to watch E3 and the Tokyo Game Show. Only it will be from our own safe places at home thanks to the internet.
